Job Description

Are you a skilled healthcare finance professional looking for a hybrid medical billing and collections role with an excellent work-life balance? We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Representative to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, AZ!

In this essential role, you will manage high-volume accounts receivable, process billing and collections, reconcile complex accounts, and resolve claim denials. Working a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with no weekend or on-call hours, you will enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule—working two days in the office and choosing three work-from-home days after completing an initial two-week on-site training period.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Manage high-volume healthcare accounts receivable, perform medical billing and collections, reconcile unapplied payments, and resolve claim denials to ensure optimal cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate invoices, apply payments, and manage past-due accounts using aging reports.

  • Reconcile accounts, research unapplied payments, and resolve contractual variance discrepancies.

  • Investigate short-pays, chargebacks, and claim denials thoroughly to secure proper payment.

  • Communicate professionally with payers and customers to resolve billing inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in healthcare medical billing and collections.

  • strong general accounting knowledge (debits/credits, AR processes, aging reports).

  • Proficiency in EMR/billing systems (e.g., WellSky, Waystar, Availity) and MS Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and written/verbal communication skills.

  • Preferred: Background in Home Health billing or Single Case Agreements.
