Chief Financial Officer (Amazon E-Commerce)

$275,000 – $350,000

Position Overview

A rapidly growing Amazon-based portfolio company is seeking a hands-on CFO to build and lead the financial infrastructure from the ground up. This role requires someone who can operate strategically while also diving into the details of a complex, SKU-heavy environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong Amazon financial experience, leadership capability, and the ability to proactively identify cost savings and profit opportunities .

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Amazon/e-commerce financial operations
• Strong leadership experience building and managing teams
• Deep understanding of inventory, COGS, and multi-SKU environments
• Ability to create financial systems, reporting, and forecasting from scratch
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• CPA preferred

Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

• Build and lead the company’s financial operations from the ground up
• Develop and manage accounting, reporting, and financial strategy
• Hire and oversee accounting team (including bookkeepers)

Reporting & Analysis

• Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports
• Identify cost leaks, inefficiencies, and profit opportunities
• Provide forward-looking insights, not just historical reporting

Operations & Cost Control

• Analyze COGS, shipping, and operational expenses across SKUs
• Track and map POs against ASINs and inventory flows
• Identify pricing, vendor, and logistics inefficiencies

Strategic Execution

• Partner with leadership on financial planning and growth strategy
• Step into negotiations when needed to improve vendor terms
• Establish scalable systems for long-term growth

Must-Haves

• Amazon/e-commerce financial experience
• Strong leadership and team-building ability
• Proven ability to build financial systems and reporting structures
• Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and operationally strong
