About the Company Republic Airways is one of the largest regional airlines in the United States, operating modern Embraer E170/E175 aircraft on behalf of Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and United Airlines from bases across the country. Role Overview The Chief Flight Instructor directs flight instructors, department managers and administrative team members at LIFT Academy, Republic Airways' flight training organisation, maintaining a culture of safety, efficiency and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Ensure the quality and standardisation of flight training operations across the LIFT Academy network of training campuses. Work alongside the student advisory team to ensure efficient training and drive successful programme outcomes for students. Perform flight instructor duties authorised by the Federal Aviation Regulations in accordance with the approved Training Course Outline. Coach, mentor, develop and, where necessary, discipline reporting associates. Ensure all assigned students meet the course standards, training requirements and objectives set out in the Training Course Outline. Delegate tasks and projects to team members and monitor successful, on-time and on-budget completion. Recommend and develop curriculum and courseware improvements where appropriate. Attend administrative, standardisation, in-service training and instructor development meetings as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Licences & Qualifications FAA certificated flight instructor: airplane single-engine land, airplane multi-engine land and instrument. Must hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate. Must meet the chief instructor requirements of 14 CFR 141.35 and be able to complete initial and ongoing proficiency checks with the FAA under 14 CFR 141.35 and 141.79. Experience At least 2,000 hours as pilot in command. At least 100 hours of flight time in actual or simulated instrument conditions. Flight training experience as a certificated flight instructor, as an instructor in a military pilot flight training programme, or a combination of both, totalling either 3 years and 1,000 flight hours or 1,500 flight hours. Instrument flight instructor experience as a certificated flight instructor-instrument, as an instructor in a military pilot flight training programme, or a combination of both, totalling either 2 years and 250 flight hours or 400 flight hours. Knowledge of and the ability to apply effective instructional technique in the classroom and in flight. Aircraft piloting skills, including familiarity with and the ability to perform the required flight manoeuvres and procedures. Knowledge of the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and related administrative and operational procedures and requirements. Strong customer service skills. Preferred: experience as a people leader managing and coaching direct reports in an operations-focused, fast-paced environment. Preferred: G1000 experience. Preferred: DA40 NG and/or DA42-VI experience.
