Are you a professional musician ready to be part of a band with a royal historical legacy dating back to 1836? The Royal Hawaiian Band is seeking an experienced flutist to perform on the flute and related instruments as part of a world-renowned ensemble. This role goes beyond performance as you will help set the musical standard within the flute section while contributing to a dynamic and diverse repertoire. In addition to performing Hawaiian music, the Band performs marches, orchestral transcriptions, pop arrangements, Broadway selections, and movie soundtracks. Be ready to perform regularly at iconic venues such as the Iolani Palace and the Kapiolani Park Bandstand, as well as festivals and events throughout the year.

A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in music which demonstrates the ability to competently play the assigned instrument at the sixth level of difficulty.
Substitution: Work experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and ability to play the assigned instrument at the sixth level of difficulty normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree in music which demonstrates the ability to competently play the assigned instrument at the sixth level of difficulty.
Education must have been completed by the time of application in order to be credited. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, proper documentation, e.g., a foreign credential evaluation (FCE), must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
