Job Summary:

The Network Engineer - Project Lead is responsible for leading network operations and infrastructure support within a campus environment. This role involves monitoring, maintaining, and deploying wired and wireless network equipment to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance. The position requires collaboration with various technical teams and vendors while supporting network security and incident response activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure including switching, routing, and connectivity services.
  • Perform field installation and deployment of network equipment such as configuring, racking, stacking, cabling, and testing switches.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues via monitoring, analysis, and root cause investigation.
  • Investigate and resolve network incidents through remote and field-based troubleshooting, coordinating repairs to maintain service availability.
  • Escalate complex network issues and participate in on-call support activities to ensure service continuity.
  • Conduct routine maintenance including system upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and performance optimization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including operational records, network diagrams, incident logs, and runbooks.
  • Collaborate with network engineering, architecture, security teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support technology services.
  • Support and maintain network security technologies such as firewalls and VPNs, and assist in security incident response.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in network operations and infrastructure support including wired and wireless networks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills for network equipment and connectivity issues.
  • Knowledge of network security technologies and protocols including firewalls and VPNs.
  • Ability to perform field installations and network equipment deployment.
  • US Citizenship or Legal Resident status.
  • Residency in South Carolina or willingness to relocate prior to employment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience working in a campus or large enterprise network environment.
  • Familiarity with network documentation standards and tools.
  • Prior experience in a project lead or senior network engineer role.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking credentials.
Special Considerations:
  • Role is fully onsite at the specified South Carolina location.
  • Candidate must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate at own expense before starting.
  • Participation in on-call support activities may be required.
  • US Citizenship or Legal Resident status mandatory for compliance.
Scheduling:
  • Standard 38 hours per week.
  • Contract duration of 6 months with possibility of extension.
  • Work schedule aligned with typical business hours; on-call duties as assigned.
