•    Works to the full scope of a paramedic to include intubation, medication administration, bedside procedures.
•    Works as part of a collaborative care team with nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and technicians rather than as a small independent ambulance crew.

•    Performs delegated patient care activities that support and complement nursing practice within the ED care model.
•    Manages multiple patients simultaneously instead of caring for one patient during a single transport event.
•    Assists with patient throughput by supporting triage, obtaining EKGs, IV access, medication administration, and diagnostic testing.
•    Provides care in a highly structured environment with immediate access to physicians, advanced imaging, laboratory services, and specialty resources.
•    Contributes to department flow and operational efficiency, helping reduce delays, boarding impacts, and diversion pressures.
•    Documents care within the electronic medical record and participates in the ongoing plan of care throughout the patient's ED visit.
•    Develops expertise in hospital workflows, patient handoffs, interdisciplinary communication, and quality measures.
•    Balances emergency response skills with broader patient care responsibilities, including monitoring, reassessment, patient education reinforcement, and discharge support
