Job Description

Seeking reporter for family-owned weekly newspaper located near Yosemite National Park. The job entails covering the local county government, the district court, hospital board and much more. The position also includes feature writing as well as photography. Investigative reporting will also be a part of this position which means we need someone who is not afraid to ask the hard questions. Knowledge of the Adobe Suite is preferred and pagination is a part of this position. We will train the right candidate. We welcome recent college graduates to apply. We offer a competitive salary, will pay half of the employee’s insurance and the company pays for dental and vision insurance along with a small life insurance plan. Because of our location about 35 miles from Yosemite, recreational opportunities are endless. We are looking for someone who believes in old-fashioned journalism and who also understands the value of a local newspaper. Those are critical in our philosophy.
