Job Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a fast-growing technology startup based in San Francisco, for a Chief of Staff to operate as a true force multiplier to the CEO. This is a high-visibility, high-trust role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating the CEO's priorities into concrete plans, driving alignment across departments, and making sure the most important initiatives in the company actually get done.

Day to day, you will move fluidly between boardroom-level strategy conversations and the operational details that make strategy real, running point on cross-functional initiatives, preparing materials for the leadership team and board, and closing the gaps between departments before they become problems. The ideal candidate is a sharp, low-ego operator who can build structure out of ambiguity, earn trust quickly across the organization, and represent the CEO's intent with judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted strategic partner and force multiplier to the CEO across priorities
  • Drive planning, execution, and follow-through on key cross-functional initiatives
  • Run leadership team meetings, offsites, and board meeting preparation
  • Translate company strategy into clear operating plans and measurable milestones
  • Identify organizational bottlenecks and broker alignment across departments
  • Own special projects that require coordination across product, sales, and operations
  • Prepare briefing documents, presentations, and analyses for executive decision-making
  • Monitor progress against company OKRs and escalate risks before they become issues
  • Serve as a communication bridge between the CEO and the broader organization
  • Represent the CEO in select internal and external meetings as needed

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, strategy, consulting, or general management role
  • Experience working directly with a CEO or senior executive team in a startup or tech environment
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional projects to completion
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills suited for executive audiences
  • High degree of discretion and sound judgment handling confidential information
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, resource-constrained environment
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience a plus
  • Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with equity in a high-growth startup
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k plan with company match
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • Professional development and learning stipend
  • Commuter benefits
  • Wellness stipend
  • Free daily lunch and snacks in the San Francisco office
  • Direct mentorship and exposure to executive leadership
