Job Title: Morning Show Co-Host - WNGC Athens Radio

Position Overview

WNGC Radio is seeking a dynamic, personality-driven Morning Show Co-Host to join North Georgia's heritage Country radio station. This role is one of the primary on-air voices of the morning show and helps build audience loyalty, grow ratings and digital engagement, create compelling multiplatform content, and represent WNGC in the community.

We are looking for a great storyteller with a strong point of view, quick wit, and passion for Country music, local culture, and audience engagement. The ideal candidate understands how to maintain forward momentum through effective teasing, pacing, and content execution while connecting naturally with listeners on-air, online, and in person.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Co-host a live, personality-driven morning show that delivers compelling storytelling, listener interaction, local content, interviews, and engaging entertainment.
• Develop and execute daily content plans, recurring features, story arcs, and digital content across social, video, web, and podcast platforms.
• Voice-track assigned shifts and create commercial, promotional, and endorsement content as needed.
• Represent WNGC at community events, promotions, concerts, remote broadcasts, and client activities while collaborating across departments to support audience growth and revenue opportunities.
• Operate the control board, radio automation system, phone system, and other studio equipment, including editing interviews, phone content, and other audio.
• Execute station strategy while supporting ratings growth, digital engagement, FCC compliance, and ongoing professional development.
• Participate in regular show planning, coaching, airchecks, and content reviews.
• Maintain reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional judgment in a live, deadline-driven environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated on-air radio experience with strong storytelling, audience engagement, and personality-driven content skills.
• Strong on-air presence with a relatable, topical, and occasionally humorous point of view.
• Understanding of audience retention, content pacing, teasing, show momentum, and the Country radio audience.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and vocal delivery skills.
• Experience with audio editing software, such as Adobe Audition, and radio automation systems, such as WideOrbit.
• Proficiency creating social media and video content across multiple digital platforms.
• Creative, prepared, coachable, and able to collaborate effectively within a morning show and across Programming, Promotions, Digital, and Sales with a strong work ethic and team-first mindset.
• Availability for early mornings, local or regional travel, and occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, events, and remote broadcasts.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet applicable company driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Country music, Country lifestyle culture, and relevant pop-culture trends.
• Familiarity with the Athens/North Georgia market and local audience interests.
• Passion for North Georgia, its communities, and the local audience WNGC serves.
• Experience creating podcast, video, interview, or social-first content.
• Prior experience with remote broadcasts, promotions, concerts, community events, or client-facing appearances.
