Job Description

Summary

Join a dynamic, hands-on clinical training experience at Baylor College of Medicine, where you will build advanced expertise in voice, swallowing, and upper aerodigestive disorders within a leading academic medical environment. This postgraduate internship offers direct mentorship and progressive autonomy, allowing you to develop confidence and independence in performing instrumental assessments such as Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES).

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care across the continuum—from prevention and screening to evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. You’ll work with a diverse patient population, tailoring interventions to meet a wide range of physical, cultural, developmental, and psychosocial needs while applying evidence-based practices and advanced clinical instrumentation.

As part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will engage closely with physicians, therapists, and healthcare staff across outpatient settings, strengthening your clinical judgment, communication skills, and professional presence. This experience emphasizes both technical skill development and holistic care, including addressing environmental and behavioral factors that impact communication and swallowing function.

Ideal candidates are adaptable, team-oriented clinicians committed to continuous learning, professional growth, and delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced academic healthcare environment.
