We are seeking a Senior Sustainability Professional to help advance our sustainability strategy through data-driven insights analytical rigor and cross-functional collaboration.

You will be responsible for sustainability performance measurement across energy carbon water and waste and providing analytics support to the sustainability team within Global Operations & Supply Chain. You will manage the accuracy of our methods & data frameworks and perform data quality assurance to ensure compliance with incoming sustainability and ESG regulations.

This role can be based at any US location near a Medtronic site with a preference for CA and Mountain Time locations.

  • Develop methodologies to estimate air and GHG emissions waste generation and water consumption for multiple functions and at the site- level

  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to ensure accurate calculations addressing anomalies and/ or gap-filling data

  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end users/ customers and share insights to enable-decision making

  • Summarize data in a visually appealing and intuitive manner for effective communication

  • Demonstrate ownership and independence in managing projects and meeting deadlines

  • Contribute to the overall sustainability by coordinating project-based reductions across multiple functions

  • Review capital / OPEX budgets for these projects in order drive meaningful results

  • Identify data relationships and dependencies to enhance accuracy of calculations

  • Manage enterprise GHG inventory (Scopes 1 2 & 3) according to GHG Protocol; support third-party verification

  • Create and maintain dashboards for environmental sustainability performance

  • Support global sustainability goals (zero waste carbon reduction water stewardship circularity)

  • Excellent communicator and influencer; proactive self-motivated and effective at balancing strategic vision with hands-on problem-solving

Must Haves

  • Bachelors Degree and 4 years of environmental compliance or sustainability program management OR advanced degree and 2 years of experience

  • Expertise or working knowledge of carbon accounting methodologies and databases

  • Experience processing and analyzing large datasets with proficiency in coding (R Python and/or SQL) and hands-on experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with sustainability disclosures aligned with the GHG protocol ISSB/IFRS SASB TCFD CDP CSRD/ESRS and SBTi Guidelines
  • Experienced with life cycle assessments including product carbon footprints
  • Advanced degree ( Masters preferred) in Environmental Science Data Analytics Engineering Sustainability Computer Science or related field with relevant professional certifications (e.g. CEM LEED CEP ENV-SP)
  • In-depth knowledge of global regulations (EU CSRD CARB SB253) and experience in multinational operations and supply chain
  • Strong organizational documentation and compliance skills; able to manage complex cross-functional projects across time zones

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$96000.00 - $144000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
