Job Title: Dockworker
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Supervisor
Schedule: Work days will be Monday, Tuesday Friday and Sundays. You will be off Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Start time during the week will be 2am working 4-5 hours and Sunday's start time will be 6am working 8-10 hours that day.
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the successful movement of freight across the dock. As part of this movement, the dockworker is to adhere to all dock safety regulations regarding the movement of freight with designated equipment, such as a forklift. Furthermore, the dockworker is to follow all standard operating procedures regarding the completion of dock paperwork and dock cleanliness.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Prior experience preferred. Must be able to drive a forklift.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good command of the English language a must. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be forklift certified and have successfully completed the Dock Training Program.
